Laura Pisko-Bezruchko

Laura is a dynamic health services leader with proven success in implementing organizational and health system change through inspiring and building stakeholder commitment towards a common vision.

Laura is leading a program review of Bloorview Kids Rehab's inpatient Acquired Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury and Complex Continuing Care inpatient programs. The purpose of this assignment is to evaluate the programs with an emphasis on the programs' opportunities to be world leading through benchmarking performance and building capacity in academic activities. Laura is currently completing a report with recommendations for clinical excellence.

Most recently, Laura led the Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Norfolk (HNHB) LHIN's coordinated strategy for complex continuing care services. In this capacity she chaired an advisory group of health service provider experts to develop a new regional bed configuration model. Based on this work, Laura made recommendations in her report on a new governance model, accountability mechanisms, and regional protocols based on an evaluation of the current complex continuing care system and future population needs.
